Single vineyard Riesling from the Craigow Vineyard in the Coal River Valley. Planted in 1989.

Straw yellow in the glass. Fresh cut yellow grapefruit and lime zest on those nose, overlayed with mandarin blossom and subtle seaspray. Taughtly shaped palate with grapefruit, red apple skin and lime pith, a touch of lees weight and wet stone. A fine dusting of chalky phenolics and salty, satiating length to finish.

Handpicked on the 15th April. About 25% of the fruit destemmed and soaked on skins overnight for 18 hours, the balance kept as whole bunches.

Pressed together, with stems and all. Juice cold settled, racked and warmed for indigenous yeast ferment. A long, slow, cool ferment in stainless steel, with some old barriques in the mix as well to preserve aromatics and develop texture. Kept on lees for 4 months before careful bottling with light filtration without any fining.
